Sloco's Cars

Poor Sloco, now with a slower boat also has a slower car. He seems to
question the "maturity" of sports cars, while driving a retirement
vehicle perhaps even more dated than his boat. His only defense seems
to be that the builders "fixed" some of the problems. Wonderful.
Why is that a car like my Tribeca comes out and it's better than ALL
American cars from day one? The LSC is still not a match for a Acura RL
or quite frankly even lower end Japanese cars.
But getting back to the STI and EVO....you can't even find anything
less than RAVES....

"Actually, we're flying through this convoluted course, working the
sporty Momo steering wheel and plying a Prodrive six-speed gearbox with
the turbo-charged and inter-cooled engine whining and Potenza rubber
wailing, all simply to see just what this thing can do. And it can do a
lot. We're talking pin-your-ears-to-the-seat accelerations and
king-of-the-street speeds in a relatively lightweight four-door package
patterned after World Rally Championship (WRC) race cars."

"With up to 14.5 psi of maximum boost this four-cylinder engine gives a
power to weight and displacement ratios that are remarkable even for
some racecars. The result is 0 to 60 times in the low, very low,
five-second range. Yes, folks, this is an all wheel drive sedan with a
nice sized trunk that is as fast as the much more expensive Corvette. "

"For about $33,000 you can own one of the fastest cars in the world and
still take the family to the local supermarket, or just revel in the
fact that the Subaru WRX STi, even with its 300 horsepower, gets 22 mpg
on premium."

"At some point, with two cars so evenly matched, it comes down to the
driver's abilities rather than the cars'. We believe the average driver
will find probing the outer limits of his abilities easier in the
Subaru, but a talented driver will be able to outrun him in the
Mitsubishi--barely."

"This is what world class means. Provided you've got someplace to drive
your STI as it's meant to be driven, it's hard to imagine having more
car fun for 33 grand. However, if you don't live in rural Germany or
own your own racetrack you probably won't ever get more than a hint of
what this remarkable automobile is capable of. "

"The STI and EVO are simply at the top of the class and would remain so
at twice the price."

Sloco knows cars, Folks!

What's an LSC? If you are refering to the Lincoln LS many reviewers
have stated that with the small refinements that have taken place since
it's introduction that it has exceeded the BMW 540 as the best sports
sedan. I haven't read that about the RL.

SMALL refinements??? Who exactly are you trying to kid? The new LS is
not too bad (Still wouldn't risk owning one), but your car is a freakin
dinosaur!

Too lazy to read up Boobie is that why you do the "trying to kid" troll
line? ZF rack & pinion for one. Most of the little refinements were
made in 02 & 03. I wouldn't call a contender in the worlds sports
sedan market a dinosaur. Hell, the 2000 was named car of the year.
Buy hey, what do you know. By the way you couldn't afford one.

Wow, just like our boat!

By the way you couldn't afford one.

Eh? Better go look to see what a loaded Tribeca costs...more than your
car and we have a custom dealer installed 3 screen DVD system as well.
And that's just our family car. The new STI costs over 33K and that's
just our fun car. The MG-TF is insured for 41K and we drive that in PA
maybe 5 times a year....our silly car!
Face it, Sloco....you're busted and your cars are old and less
expensive. I bet people in Florida are VERY impressed, but even an
Outback costs in the low 30K range now.
It must kill you that I have more at just 43 years of age! And you know
what else I'll have tonight that you won't? Sex with a beautiful woman!
You usually have to pay for it...and it's never a woman, now is it???

(See, Gary...? This is the sort of thing I'm refering to. He'll go on
and on as long as I keep baiting him. Even reading this text, showing
him he's being baited or admitting we don't own a new boat yet won't
change his mode. It's amazing and fun!)

My silly car at one time was the worlds fastest accelerating production
car. That MG is slower than a tricycle.

2 years = old? Not in most people's books. I've asked before Boobie
..... who lives in FL?

Whaaaaa? Not in a LONG time!
Main difference between my MG and your LS....the MG has gained in value
and continues to do so. It's automotive history while your LS is
counting the days until it's crushed. The TF is among the rarest of the
MGs. I plan to add a MGA Twincam soon.

I've asked before Boobie

Nobody now. Suzanne's aunt died and left her property in Clearwater.
We're trying to decide what to do with it.

Well that's a dumb ass response to the fact you were wrongly accusing
me of living in FL.

You ass. I wasn't refering to the LS. Do you actually think I would
refer to the LS as one of the fastest accelerating cars of all time?
What a dope.

I guess you need to add the bigger engine because of your weight. That
TF can't even get out of it's own way with a 16 year old girl driving
who is a size double 0. I guess that's why every time I see one of
those things on the road it's being driven by some little skinny fart
with a goatee. While your replacing the engine you may want to do the
springs and shocks. The exhaust system is probably hitting the road
with you in the car. Why not just unload the little anemic POS and get
a used Viper?
