Sail area is listed in the manual, brochure and my Doyle spec sheet as
622. I think I'll believe the builder of the boat and sails. BTW, I do
have the tall rig, which adds the small increase in SA. Most 35s5's
carry a 110% in most conditions. We found it more than enough sailing
in air below 8 knots. Size-wise, we carry...

Mylar main
110 Mylar
135 Dacron
150 Mylar

We sailed the boat, Jeff. And in light air. You can squeeze numbers
until you turn blue. You only need to look at the wetted surface of the
Nordica to know why it's rated slower than a tall rig Catalina 30. Snap
out of it. This is another little squabble you lost!
PS: If we ever decide to race the 35s5, we'll carry a rating of 126,
which is the same rating the fellow in NJ had with his standard rig.
How much LWL do we have over the Nordica and how much heeled? Look
closely at the WL vs. the aft platform.
