Not you Bob & Puppets,

The Thanksgiving type.

How are you going to cook yours?

We will deep fry in peanut oil this year on an island in the bay.
It's best done outside.

Fresh oysters on the half shell, oyster dressing, oyster chowder,
shrimp cocktails.

Perhaps a game of horse shoes, some fishin, and lots of ship watching,
frizbee tossing, enjoying, low humidity, clear blue skies, 77 degree
weather.

Since I haven't got my propane stove hooked up yet, I will be making a
turkey breast in either the crock pot or the electric skillet. I suppose I
could go up to the gas grills and try to cook one there but I think it would
take too long. If I can finagle some crabs off one of the other liveaboards
who has a crab pot, I thought I might make some crab cakes, too.

I'm making a traditional (my family at any rate) roast
turkey dinner with most of the trimmings. Since it's just
the 2 of us I'm cheating and making boil-bag lima beans.

Don't eat too much of that swamp based seafood.

Our first year down here we went to a potluck at Philo's, a cruiser
friendly bar in La Cruz. It was great food followed by great dancing
to Bubba and the Bottom Feeders. Last year we went to the Yacht Club
for a traditional Turkey dinner. It was ho-hum. This year we are
joining a group of cruisers at a local restaurant for a traditional
turkey dinner. We'll see how that goes.

The last thing I want to do in these parts is cook a turkey. It's 5:15
pm now and 80 degrees in the cabin. Whew!

I don't. I'm married. When I hear the dinner bell, I sit down
and eat turkey, yams, corn, mashed taters, broccoli, cole slaw,
and pecan pie ala mode.
