Default Hungry Japs?

Oh...I was kinda serious, and find it hard to find the funny side.

Why do you think the japs did this?
What was the motive?
Old Japanese customs?
A bonding thing between officers?

Joe

A good portion of the Japanese Army in WWII came from a medieval culture.
Their Officer Corps was in no way as cultured and refined as the US, Britian
or Germany. Look at what they did to China and Korea.

I had never heard of Japanese cannibalism but, apparently, it wasn't all
that uncommon. The major reason was as a prevention of starvation, but it
wasn't the only reason.
