Pretty impressive. Did you see the polars on the last page of the spec
sheet?

I couldn't open that page. I can only guess.

Care to elaborate for me?

The top of the curve ended at 20+ kts, I believe they also mentioned that
they topped at 22 kts. during the sea trials. Wonder what they want for the
thing? Perry did a review of the thing a while back in "Sailing" IIRC, don't
recall what the price was. $750k?

The top speed doesn't impress me that much. My rather tame by
comparison 36' cruising cat is claimed to top out at 17, though I've
never been above 13.5 knots. More impressive was the 12 to 14 upwind
on the sea trials. Booby, of course, would call this a "downwind barge."

Top speed is fun in protected waters. I'll have to
call Peter Johnstone and ask him about the boat.
I'll try to remember to ask about price also. I think
your estimate is probably accurate. The Gunboats
tend to sell for a premium compared to similar sized
boats.

I wonder how it handles on the ocean--that is the
real test. What is the bridge deck clearance? What
is the practical speed limit in real world conditions?
Most multihulls have probelms there.

Tell us more about sailing your boat in ocean conditions
Jeff. What conditions do you start to throttle back?

Peter tells me GB-48 Cream is $1.37 million tricked
as it is.

A million isn't what it used to be.
