I finished writing my trip report for my BVI trip. I'll post it soon.
My second trip to Spain was interesting also. During a side trip to Majorca I spotted the schooner I cruised to Hawaii in back in 1997. It was docked at the harbor in Palma. That was a surprise and a treat to see. I got a picture but the yacht was partially blocked by passing traffic and the seawall. My one day sailing was boring. Light winds on a Bavaria 36. These are boat that use thimbles and crimp swages for their lifelines. No pelican hooks or quality swqage fittings. Overall, the quality was slightly lower than I would have expected of a boat of this class. I did see an interesting one design fleet. The boats were about 28 feet long with open transoms and swing keels. Most were dry sailed. I saw only five in slips. The total fleet size was about 25 boats. I did not take any pictures. Does anyone have an idea of what they could be? During the tour of the Maritime Center, I took dozens of photos. That was perhaps the most interesting part of the trip. I'll post those next week.
