Default Ding DongWeather

Yesterday we got 2 inches of snow and then it went up to 36...this morning
there's another inch of the crap and it's doing the freezy rain thing on top
of it and it's Saturday so the County won't make any effort at all to get
rid of it...tomorrow is the first day of Spring...will someone inform Mother
Nature that enough is enough already?

It was +5 here yesterday, sunny and most of the snow has melted away.
Rain is forecast for the weekend.....

I start work on Monday.

Sunny, mid-50s in NC... no wind at all, so I'm not going sailing...
might uncover the Jn-18 and do a little cleaning and general
spiffing-up... or I might go canoing instead...

But it's really really awful... don't even think of moving here...

We are having really weird weather over here. Just over a week ago, I
played a game of golf with some snow and ice on the course. Today, I played
in shorts and a T-shirt.

Tomorrow I am going out for a sail!!! I have never sailed in March without
wearing warm clothes. I will be in shorts tomorrow

Hoards of blue hairs from the Great White North are on their way to NC as we
speak, Doug. Have you given any thought to securing the Preparation H
concession?

They might not like the weather (or the cost of running their air
conditioners 8 months per year) but they'll feel right at home in the
vast suburban warehouse for old folks that North Carolina has become.
It's the new Florida.

Best of all, they can gripe to their heart's content about how
Southerners don't know how to do anything right, and/or don't know how
to drive, while never realizing 99.9% of the people around them are
fellow Yankees.

I've already got the Poly-Grip concession, thanks.

Heh. I would have happily swapped that for Wednesday's sandstorm
in the Cobbler desert followed by Thursday's duststorm at
Innamincka.

Problems with allthe "strange weather", no-one has long enough
attention spans. As far as I can tell, watching all the 70-80
y.o. trees die in the inland creeks, we're entering a weather
patern akin to the mid-1930s or possibly the 1890-1900 disaster
years.

Suggest you, DOnal and others do a cast back over the last 100
years or so, and you'll find parallels.

I issue this post as a public service, before someone starts
global warming. (I for one am happy that human pollution so far
appears to be staving off the next ice age...).

Out sailing in the next few days---finally--with a bit of luck
there'll be autmnal gales to drive everyone else off the Murray
Lakes...which in keeping with both natural drought and man-made
river flow reductions, continue silting up and growing weed in a
sort of inland Sargasso...

NC has done too fine a job promoting itself as such. Hell, the largest real
estate pages in SOUNDINGS aren't Florida anymore. But fear not--when all
those blue hairs begin dying off from natural attrition, those up north will
begin to believe there must be something dangerous or toxic in NC and start
going back to Florida.

Best of all, they can gripe to their heart's content about how Southerners
don't know how to do anything right, and/or don't know how to drive, while

Yeah, that driving issue is a problem. Their carpet bags keep getting
caught in the pedals.

That works. Give some thought to Mylanta, too.
