Kitty... my "job" on this game is to kill any members of the opposing team
that by-pass the members of my team advancing to the opposing base node.
Nodes are secured and activated to create a pathway to the base node of the
opposing team. The opposing team can destroy the activated nodes and then
reactivate them as their own.. As nodes are secured I am directed to guard
certain strategic nodes so as to allow the team to advance to the base node
and attack it. It's a heck of a way to release tension. Lots of adrenaline,
strategy and very fast paced action in a first person shooter game.

Better than my failed attempts at multiplayer gaming. Went to a LAN party a
few years ago, and got completely trashed at Quake. The best player of group
was sitting next to me - watching him play was amazing. Also had a go at
Delta Force online, but it was chaos - seemed that anything that moved was
fair game, in spite of it being a two-teams game. I think I prefer something
a bit more strategic and slower-paced - I like doing the sniper thing,
either from medium range with a silenced rifle, or from a kilometer or so
away with something very loud and powerful. Return To Castle Wolfenstein has
some excellent single player scenarios for that.

BTW - you ever try a program called IntelliCad? I'm looking for a
field Cad app. to read and do minor alterations to designs during
supervision/inspection.

The name rings a bell, but I haven't used it. There are tools out there for
that use, though - stuff that can let you tweak AutoCAD drawings on a PDA,
for instance. I assume you're talking about a PDA platform - as soon as
you're up to a laptop or notebook, normal AutoCAD will run fine. One of
those tablet notebooks with the flip-around screen might be nice for that -
good screen size and easier to hold than a normal lappy, although I don't
know how easy it would be to drive CAD with just a touch screen interface.

In my field (architectural construction), as-builts and
oh-my-god-it-doesn't-fit-we-made-the-hole-the-wrong-size 'revisions' are
usually fed back as scribbles on the last issue of paper drawings, or faxed
sketches.

that with full gore rendered detail at 1024x768 of corpses and blood
splatter... heads rolling and bouncing off the walls, torsos writhing in
agony as their legs are sent flying. entrails flying through the air and
bone fragments skittering along the floor..... well it just makes things

Oh well it's been a blast so far..... I'm doing really good...
ranking right up there in the middle insofar as kills.

BTW - you ever try a program called IntelliCad? I'm looking for a
field Cad app. to read and do minor alterations to designs during
supervision/inspection.

Ummmm, Katy.... I know. I said the attribution to him is in your
post, but
his original post isn't visible in the thread. Ie, you replied to a
post
from him that I don't have.

Inmate? State Hospitals have patients, not inmates.

The one I was at in Indiana was privately owned.

Oh, been to those too. The old one in St. Louis. VERY bad reputation.
Old guys there remember the torture and beatings and such.

My grandmother and aunt did volunteer work as Grey Ladies for the Red Cross
at the State Psych hospital in Ypsi when I was a kid...I can remember them
coming home crying for their "ladies" They would go around to local
merchants asking for donations of cosmetics and toiletries and whatever else
they could get because those women had nothing..they made them take communal
showers and would dump patricide on them to keep the lice down...horrible...

Yet people currently protest the inhumane conditions and "torture" of
terrorists. If they were subjected to half that it would make global news!

Thayt all happened in the 1950's....nowadays psychiatric patients,
especially in the states of MI, WI and MN are highly protected by heavily
enforced Mental Health Codes...
