Hey John - So who won your contest? Its not nice to announce a 500
point prize and then disappear! John Cairns wrote: "Bart Senior" wrote in message ... Here are a few pictures. It was a new camera and I accidentally took a few movies instead of pictures. I was trying to zoom in all these cases thinking I was taking still photos. I have no way to upload these videos. I have two short videos of whales that actually show more than a still photo would. I also have a few short videos of Mirabella and Mirabella V. Email me if you want me to send them to you. It may take as while as I'm travelling for the next few weeks. http://community.webshots.com/user/islandman112 Bart Like the pics, especially the Indians. Too bad you didn't have a zoom for this. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...94563299BEygZk John Cairns |

![]() Bart Senior wrote: Here are a few pictures. Bart Nice photos Bart. Were you sailing aboard Maribella? Nice looking motor sailor "Ketch1" About the poacher, you should of called the coppers and held him there until they arrived. I can understand a man selling rare fish if its feeding his family, but to kill bigger fish for no cause but the lack of profit... shows he is ignorant and has no regard what so ever for anyone else. Sad situation indeed. It would be smarter putting the locals to work in a aquaculture co-op. Anyway looks like you had a nice sail. Joe |

Just the pics are pretty impressive. I like the one of Mirabella in profile with the cruise ships in the background... gives a sense of the sheer size. It's actually a pretty boat. BTW I agree about the jib lead. If it was really all the way forward, and the foot was that stretched with the leach flopping, that was the wrong sail. Was there not a 2nd track forward, or some other way to lead the sheet? Email me if you want me to send them to you. Really unfair, actually, the place is almost completely obscure, I had to look up MAPS of the Caribbean to find any references to it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isla_Aves Good description, and I stand corrected, I wrote that this tiny little spit of land belonged to France, wikpedia claims it's Venezuelan, which would explain the presence of the Venezuelan Navy in that area. The only reason I took the pics-5 or 6-was we couldn't make it out with binoculars, the 75-300 zoom is IS. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...86047357hWKkrK John Cairns John Cairns wrote: "Bart Senior" wrote in message ... WHy don't you post that one, or a link to it.
Bart Maxprop wrote: I pulled my camera up to take a shot of the Indians from the Norman Is. side, just about the time a gaff schooner sailed past on the other side between the largest rocks. Made a great shot. I had it professionally printed (my own printer was junk at the time) and it hangs on the wall of my den. The Indians are a great spot to shoot nubile young things as well, but you probably already know that. Max |
