Default Solar Sailing about to start

http://www.planetary.org/news/2004/s..._set_1109.html

Arthur C. Clarke published a short story about it in 1960s called "The Wind
from the Sun."
Perhaps it will actually work.

That reminds me. Remember that idiot, over in England I think, who
claimed he could use a windmill contraption aboard his boat to power
the boat straight into the wind using only the power of the wind?

Bwaahahhahahahahahhahhahha. That solar sail will work but
only downwind or crosswind. It will never be able to go upwind.

It is against the known laws of physics for a sailboat to sail
directly into the wind and it's the same for solar sails.

Oh here we go... now Ozone is going to tell me about the space breezes and
how to reef the space sails... Bwahahahahahahahahaaaa!!

Heh Ozone.... do you think the planetary orbit might be affected by a really
strong burst of "space wind".... Bwahahahahahahaaaaa!!

Solar Wind.... Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!

Next you'll be claiming Lunar Rain?

What a fool. The solar wind absolutely affects the orbit. It doesn't have to
be "really strong."
