Cripes... how dumb are you anyway?
Wind in space???? It's a Solar Sail!!!! Sheesh! CM "Capt. Neal®" wrote in message ... That reminds me. Remember that idiot, over in England I think, who claimed he could use a windmill contraption aboard his boat to power the boat straight into the wind using only the power of the wind? Bwaahahhahahahahahhahhahha. That solar sail will work but only downwind or crosswind. It will never be able to go upwind. It is against the known laws of physics for a sailboat to sail directly into the wind and it's the same for solar sails. CN CN "JG" wrote in message ... http://www.planetary.org/news/2004/s..._set_1109.html Arthur C. Clarke published a short story about it in 1960s called "The Wind from the Sun." Perhaps it will actually work. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

And, it uses the solar wind to sail. We know you're dumb.

Heh Jon... maybe they can "hear" the solar wind when it's blowin' hard! The Solar Wind on Mercury must be wicked Eh? Bwahahahahahahahaaaaa...... CM |

![]() "Jeff Morris" wrote in message I'm guessing you don't check out the Space Weather every day. http://www.sec.noaa.gov/SWN/index.html No Jeff I admit I don't..... but let's face it... I believe the term "wind" when they say solar wind is a bit of a misnomer. My understanding is that it's not a wind and the solar sails don't catch a breeze. Maybe you can explain it for us Jeff...... CM |
