They say next year for the US. I've seen one at a Mercedes dealer -
pretty neat, but it felt more like a fancy golf cart than a small car.

Same here. Are they still working on the magnet guided cars out in
Calif.? Asking for trouble, IMO.

Shucks, they're working on video-guided cars, and cars with infrared
data exchange ports for linking up in traffic.

Why would it be trouble (assuming the system has been adequately
debugged)? I'd a lot rather just say "Home, James!" and put my feet up
than fight morons yakking on their cell phones while goign 80 in
bumper-to-bumper traffic. Let the computer do it! And as for the morons,
obviously a computer is going to be a safer driver....
