Neal,

You better believe this, my friend, Living full time on a 27 foot out
dated Coranado boat; equipped with inferior Hong Kong sails, that you're
afraid to tension with an outhaul, on a bent badly repaired boom,
****ting in a cedar bucket and tossing it in public waters is as tacky
as anyone can get.

Trying to justifying it even makes it tackier.

Making it even lower is criticise anyone from that level of tackiness
wears the
the "TACKY CROWN" so I bow to your title. You qualify on every item

An alternative. Fella on one of the mailing lists made one that

looks like
this from some round wooden door knobs and a piece of spectra.

Dave,

I was thinking of going almost that route with 2 inch dowels cut two
inches long, drilled out with tapered ends but I didn't like the bend it
put in the fore Stay but it did work.

This one doesn't seem to kink the Stay as bad.

Dave, both systems store better than the $75.00 one. You can stuff them
in the sailbag

The only thing Ole Thom has that I might be jealous of is
the patent he took out on Fantasy Land. Disney is paying
him to this day for the rights . . .
