You've been around long enough to know the difference. Well, those aren't very good examples. This is USENET, ridicule is standard procedure. Jim's problem is that he demands respect for his ignorance and insists that we all envy his "boat." Then he posts stories about his "sailing experience" of which motoring is the highlight; the funny thing is that he doesn't know much about his own boat and thinks that comparing it to a Valiant 40 makes it better. Hey Jim, you figure out how that "rotating mast" works yet? Fresh Breezes- Doug King Jeff, have you never seen a cat or trimaran with a rotating mast? How ignorant can you be, actually. Jim |
Oh, now I see. It's bash the Scotty time...

"Jim Cate" wrote in message Really? The what was powering it when I turned the motor off? Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaa!!! "Powering it"???... I don't know Jim.... the batteries??? "She's Dead Jim"... CM |
"Jim Cate" wrote in message Oh Yeah Jimbo.... 'sailboat'.... Bwahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa!!! so we didn't get a lot of great sailing the capabilities of the boat to power back at planing speeds We were easily making 14 knots with normal load the boat does attain planing speeds, and its speed under power does indeed provide Bwahahahahahahahaaaaa.... you own a floating piece of ****! "Jim Cate" wrote in message - Right? Incidentally, how fast will YOUR BOAT get you back to the dock if the winds are down? 7 knots? 6 Knots? 5 knots? Well Jimbo.... It won't look like your dorkmobile with a ridiculous stick leaned back at a 45 degree angle as you push water trying to get holeshot from a 50 hp outboard bolted to the flimsiest, ugly, oil canning piece of **** maragarine container to ever float. You know both power boaters and sailors laugh at you..... CM |
"bell" wrote in message Oh, now I see. It's bash the Scotty time... Loser powerboater Typical isn't it? The Mac26 isn't even a powerboat..... it's floating garbage. The ****boxes can't even get on step with a 100 hp outboard. CM |

How ignorant can you be, actually. You seem to keep confusing Doug and I; do you have a problem keeping facts straight? BTW, I've been on a number of boats with rotating masts. Its really nothing new. Many small boats and most beach cats have rotating rigs. You just don't see them often on cruising boats, because they aren't very strong compared to a traditional rig. And while you can make a case that it produces a more efficient rig, you can also create more efficient rigs with full length battens and a large roach without sacrificing strength. |
Do some Googleing.

"Jim Cate" wrote fortunately, the winds have been erratic and variable in Galveston Bay during the past two weeks, so we used that as an excuse to POWER around all day. Jimbo |
lemme see if I can explain this to you, Jimmy. A real sailor would
rather ......ahhh never mind, you'll never understand. Scotty "Jim Cate" wrote in W0w, what a sailor! Katy, there's not much I can do about the weather, is there now? But you know Katy, we can't always get what we want. - Right? Incidentally, how fast will YOUR BOAT get you back to the dock if the winds are down? 7 knots? 6 Knots? 5 knots? Jim |
