First of Thom... we'll need some data:

What Make and model of camera?
Do you use a Program to download the photos?

Just a guess here .... but some digitals have the option to be recognized as
a camera or a hard drive..... if possible, try the menu bar and see if you
have the option to recognize it as a hard drive. Then just go to "My
Computer" and open the drive to copy or move the contents.
