Default OT---New Years Traditions?

I learned a great Tradition while in Philadelphia.

I married a South Philadelphia woman and they had a tradition of a great
Big pot of Veggy Soup for New Year's Day. After 57 years, I still follow
it and my Kids are doing the same.

Not sure how it started but Philly has a New Day Parade that started in
South Phila and went "Up Broad Street" to City Hall. After New Years Eve
partying and getting ready for the Parade about the only thing that
would stay down was soup.
If it didn't stay down it came up easy!

Today with the Bowl Games, A Pot of Soup simmering on the Stove makes
food preparation a Snap.

Besides Resolution, are there other Traditions for the first day of the
year?

By the way: HAPPY NEW YEAR and a GLORIOUS LEAP YEAR

Ditto Thom! I also captured one of those dark eyed Italian beauties with
South Philly roots (her Mama's family). She even had an Rocky-like uncle who
was a golden gloves boxing champ. You're right too, family and food are
everything in that neighborhood.
