I don't suppose that it will be a major problem if you still move in the same social circles as you did when you were a copper. Regards Donal I really don't know Donal...it was a gift from Santa. If you like, I could look up the valuation certificate that was required for it to be included on our contents insurance. That's really quite sad ... I was lucky enough to get some really good presents. I'm listening to one of them at the moment. It's a CD by Katie Melua.... "Call off the search". I cannot imagine that a watch could generate such pleasurable experiences. A watch cannot make your spine tingle .... or your stomach cramp ... or force your eyes shut ........ I also got a really comfortable pair of slippers! They fit very well, and make me feel a bit better when I get up every morning. A watch couldn't do that for me. I'm glad that my wife knows what I really want. Regards Donal -- |

Does it include a chapter on how to bum a tow from other cruisers, so you can save money on an engine yourself? Or how to cruise the Chesapeake with illegal sanitary arrangements, including making big-shot appearances at boat shows, and not get arrested? Frankly I don't have much respect for the Larry Pardey any more. He built two magnificent boats and is obviously a good sailor, but he's got a very swollen ego and he's a moocher. DSK Thanks for sharing. ![]() Mark E. Williams |

Williams Now all you need is Europe on $3 a day. Oz1...of the 3 twins. I welcome you to crackerbox palace,We've been expecting you. Thanks but Europe doesn't really interest me as a cruising destination but I'll keep it in mind in case I change my mind. ![]() Cheap is the only way I'm going to be able to cruise as I'm disabled on a small pension. Sorry if my lot in life disturbs you, it doesn't bother me. Everyone has problems. LOL Mark E. Williams |

Lots of cool things to see & do in Europe; plus there's a lot of good cruising & sailing. Cheap is the only way I'm going to be able to cruise as I'm disabled on a small pension. Sorry if my lot in life disturbs you, it doesn't bother me. Everyone has problems. LOL It's certainly true that everyone has problems. I'm sorry to hear about your disability but it doesn't disturb me otherwise. As for cheap, it has always been more appealing to rely on knowledge & skills rather than money. Nope! You only mentioned ONE gift. I assume that it was the gift that impressed you the most. I also metioned the gift that impressed me the most - some very nice music. I think that you have done very well to get a shallow draft cat - it'll match your personality. I'm glad that my wife knows what I really want. ![]() Mark, my comments were not directed at you but rather at the idea that the Pardeys book will be of much use. Oz1...of the 3 twins. I welcome you to crackerbox palace,We've been expecting you. I'm just filing away ideas at present. It's all grist for the mill. I read books by all kinds of sailors and sift out what might work for me, just like most of us do. ![]() Mark E. Williams |

I just have no interest at present is seeing Europe or the Med. I am thinking now about boats and building a knowledge base for when I buy a cruiser and start living aboard and gunkholing. Europe may be a possibility after I build experience in a cruiser. Mark E. Williams |
