Remember that discussion of sawing a boat in half and lengthening it?

I think it would be a nice Christmas gift to Scotty to turn his S30 into
a 35 or 36. I've got some spare fiberglass in the garage...

2x4s are expensive. How about lumber from scavenged shipping pallets?

absolutely but we'll have to soak 'em in water so's they don't split when
nailed.

Coffee, check. We get it in those 10# Navy cannisters.

cool, I can't drink the cheap stuff though - I'm class, all the way.

I love Navy coffee. When I toured the Harry S. a few years back, they served
up some fine java.
btw - man, what an awesome boat that was!

Yeah, but you were just touring. Scout was fixing the reactors. Of
course he gets a free cup of coffee, do you think Uncle Sam is some kind
of cheapskate?

No. The Navy housed and fed us for the weekend.

Actually I was in Norfolk on business - not quite fixing the reactor though,
I was starting up a DDC system. Met up with my sailor-cousin though, who had
some pull, and my wife and I got a personal midnight tour (pre 911). They
graciously offered us a ride the following weekend but I was due back in
Philadelphia and had to decline.
