Yep, sure do, it's moored in the next bay from the CYC. Designed and built by Ian Murray an icon in 18' as well as AmCup designer and skipper. Sort of a mini AmCup boat It looks very light & bouncy. I know who Ian Murray is.... never met him though. He skippered the Kookaburra against Dennis Conner IIRC. Also designed the Hobie 25 which is a really cool boat... I sailed one a few years back in a 'sportboat shootout' when most people were intimidated by the traps. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |

Maybe it's because of the negative association with 'walking the plank'? Or maybe it's because planks are friggin' crazy! I'd like to try sailing one; maybe it'll happen. I've got a few friends with Int'l Canoes although they aren't in the same league (horsepower-wise) as the Skates. Last time I sailed a 470 I found that the knees and the reflexes aren't what they used to be ![]() Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
