Neal vs. Gilligan

Am I the only one to notice a conspicuous absence of Gilligan since Neal
began posting more copiously? Apart from a repartee or two early on, they
simply don't appear in ASA simultaneously. Which supports my original
belief that they are one and the same: Mr. Milstead.

A blinding insight indeed, Mr Prop. I'm glad someone else noted
this giveaway. Now it's safe for me to point out some other
likely pigeon pairs too. If you match the timed and scheduled
postings of other supposed "individuals" in this group, you will
rapidly discover evidence, quite compelling though not absolute,
that Horvath and Ganz are one and the same, as indicated by the
immediacy of their dialogues and the contrast in length of posts,
that Bob Crantz is either Seahag in drag or possibly a sock of
Capt Mooron, as one or other tends to be present at a given time
but not both, and that the supposed Australian east coast
individuals Oz and Wiley are in fact posting under the same time
clock and must be identical.

There are a number of others: one Mr Sumner was before your time,
but Donal rose suspiciously to prominence when Sumner turned to
autumn, as it were. AT one stage Katysails had an alter ego of
Per, a strange scandinavian sailor. and so on.

Bobsprit, unfortunately, is eunique.

It is indeed very easy to hoodwink this newsgroup. As I now have
long absences in the arid interior, perhaps this is the moment
for me to confess after all these years my darkest secret in
misguiding everybody he my other alias! It's been fun, I
admit, but better to let the truth out now than have you or
someone else equally discerning uncover it. Cheers!

I agree that there are unmistakable similarities in style, philosophy, and
timing.
Of course, the Dr Jekyll of the pair is much more satirical, even humorous,
but the unmistakable stench of an overinflated sense of self worth wafts in
every post. If it's true, I would think the two would be more of a
Master-Blaster creature, with Neal being the **** stomping retard and
Gilligan being the shoulder riding, whip cracking midget who adeptly
manipulates several of Neal's bodily orifices.
Regardless, sock puppets add an interesting dimension to NGs and I endorse
the concept entirely.
Since Taddy is coming forward, I will admit to some occasional sock-puppetry

Eunique? A Freudian slip, maybe, thinking of eunuch when you typed? In any

Well, they did, a long time ago, but I managed to bluff my way
through it, simply because most of the posters then simply
couldn't credit that we were one and the same.

As I said, it's been interesting and fun, but lately it's been
almost impossible to keep the sockpuppet sailing. And I haven't
had time either, so the fun's worn off. You must have noticed
the poor quality of the (few) MC posts in the last few months,
ditto the long absences of the Flying Tadpole (which is the hat I
prefer anyway). This is where I really admire the Gilligan/Neal
combination: it's an amazing act to keep such a double going, so
consistently, all this time. A lot of effort and skill involved
in convincing the audience, even where the majority aren't too
perceptive!
