Asking how far a boat can sail is a lot like asking how far a telescope can
see. With or without a watermaker.
Spoken like a daysailor weekend warrior.
Ok Bigshot... Whats the longest time you have been at sea without
stepping ashore?
I've done 120 days, And never want to do it again.
Perhaps you should read "The Dove" to Thomas every night as a bedtime
story.
It may inspire him like it did me as a child, or it will make you make
wussie statements like read "NEVER". You will read what a few weeks in
the doldrums can do to a weak person like you.
I think 60 days is about as long as I want to endure. I enjoy the
first 30 days then it starts to get somewhat old.
But nothing like the open ocean, no other place like it one earth,
And the pacific is magical and full of paradise. I've always raced
across it heading to the main ports and would love to get off the well
travel lanes.
I still have great memories of trailing thru some of the largest
chain of islands in the world and seeing guys still in dugout canoes
holding spears.
Flying fish with 4 foot wingspans with a rainbow design that Jon
would envy.
Winged under water creatures bigger than any boat you have ever owned.
And even then....meeting another ship passing in the night. Your more
alive in the middle of the pacific than you ever will be on 5th Ave.

Thom and Scotty sure made it clear what type of "saiilors" they are!
