I'm 78. Is there anyone older?
I get more man made every tear. Btreast bone wired together. SS stent in my Heart. Plastic lenses in both eyes. Still sail but not as much as a few years ago or as far. Have been seriously considering a good comfortable Day Sailor but so far the Pilothouse sloop still serves me well. Ole Thom |

Stay with as big a boat as you can be comfortable with Thom, it seems that as the boat gets smaller you have to do more and more work to keep them upright. Don't think so on the Elect. Winches. I really don't crank winch anymore. When I tack I pull the jibs sheet all the way in while they're luffing. When the main switches tacks, I let out on the Jib sheets until trim is OK. Not as quick or pretty but works for me. The pilothouse, with the inside helm this time of year here in the NW is so nice. Wow. That's really F'ing pathetic. For my birthday Suzanne is taking me to Two if by Sea and then a Broadway show the following week. Had to make it two days since Thomas can't go to the show! Looking at Scotty Potti's life sure makes me glad I made a few good choices in life and didn't end up like him...beneath the bottom of the barrel. RB |

There is a substantive difference between one's chronological age.. and one's biological age. So... it question should be not how old one is.. but how old one feels. Now all the sailors are invited to place the 2 ages on record.. and amaze all of us, including themselves. And one should recognize that in some cases there are people whose biological age is actually higher than their chronological age. These are probably not sailors. In my personal case..
