Default Will Homeland Security outlaw recreational boating?

Sometime in the near future we will suffer another terrorist attack inside the
US. Rather than do the difficult, expensive, and politically unpopular jobs,
of securing our borders, inspecting commercial imports, etc., the government
most likely will punish that sector with the smallest voice. Just as was done
by creating no discharge zones instead of going after municipal sewage plants
and shore side development; the government, in the name of Homeland Security,
will be restricting boating to inland lakes and rivers.

Just wait until the next attack, and we may all find out just what is meant by
the "GUARD" in Coast Guard. Perhaps we should consider selling our vessels now
before their value drops considerably.

The good news is that you'll be able to pick up a large Swan really, really
cheap.

It would probably be better if you asked yourself, since you're
the expert on gayness.

It will never happen. The revenues from boating in Florida and Michigan
alone would be lost and those states would scream bloody murder to
Washington...hysterical paranoia and speculation are not a productive means
of solving problems....

Bwahhahahahahhaha. You must not be doing ANY sailing in waters patrolled by
the CG. In these parts, the Border Patrol, CG and everyone else involved in
policing these international waters actively solicit the aid of the boating
community in acting as unpaid surveillance, which we are happy to do.

John Cairns tells us that:

policing these international waters actively solicit the aid of the boating
community in acting as unpaid surveillance,

I sail a lot in international waters and have never been "actively" solicited
by anybody. I have however, been boarded several times. And if you are
acting as unpaid surveillance

Just what are you looking for, and who do you report to?

It won't be long now. Time to get a fast motor boat!

Ah yes, then the CG will be looking *very* closely at you.

Lemme guess--you've got an aging Hunter you can't get rid of for any price,
right?
