So let's get this clear....

Scotty Potti wasn't going to go out of sight of land...BUT he "scrapped the
plan" to do so.

Oh. Another idiot comment brought to you by Scotty Potti!

You jealous Bubbles?

Yes, I'm jealous that he scrapped the plan he didn't have to go where he
planned to be and then didn't, but never planned it after scrapping the plan.

Scott Vernon October 20th 04 01:52 AM

see? This is exactly why I didn't mention my 'plan A' beforehand. At
least I thought I didn't?
I knew there was a distinct possibility of it falling through. That
is why I had 'plan B' prepared. Also a 'plan C'.
And I remember some jackass on this NG bragging about 'sailing to
nowhere' and an 'around the island race' before he did it, then when
he chickened out, he looked like twice the jackass.

daysailer like yours.

Robert,

It is very wise when sailing to make several plans if you are expecting
serious shifts in the weather patterns.

Critical when planning to go far offshore.

According to Scotty logs he was paying close attention to noaa.

So what kind of boat are you going to buy?

You mentioned it to me and, given the actual weather we had, I'm glad you
decided not to singlehand around the Delmarva!

Yes, on two of the days I heard it was
blowing 25~35 with 9~12' waves. It was
rough enough on the lower bay.

E-mail me direct and I'll tell you! I don't want to spill it here yet because
it might KILL the "content" loco!

Oh come on, you know you'd like to kill me. I'm the one who shows you for what
you are. Unless your buying a new Farr 49 I think I'll hang in there.

Those conditions would be perceived as very threatening by a wimp.

The very fact that a "plan B" exists makes it unlikely that the initial
objective will be met.

Not really sure. I'm told the waves on the ocean are not as close /
choppy as on the shallower bay. Someday I'll find out.

BULL..... Guess you have never got a 100 miles offshore then be hit by
a big nasty horizon to horizon freight train front.

Now if I ever plan on going far offshore I check the weather and plan
accordingly. Plan A- Go Plan B- F'n no way.
