Default Real Boat Question

Anyone here familiar with the C&C 37 and C&C 40 from the mid 80s. They are both
on the C&C hit list as boats that scored. I see the prices are quite close.
Anyone sail either and have some feedback. I already spoke to owners...looking
for additional info.

Sailed both out here, although not in a couple of years. I believe
they were early 80s boats. Very solidly built. Took being trashed by
the local charterers pretty well. They were quite stiff and seakindly.

They're both notorious for the C&C "smile"....their keels separate from the
hull.....but they are fast and sail well....

Well, I've sailed a bunch of C&Cs of that era... all different sizes
and I've never see that happen or heard of it. I suppose it's
possible.

I thought you already had a locked up deal on a 34+? Did that one fall through?
It sounded pretty good.

The deal on the 34+ is still pending, but the owner is now thinking he wants to
hold on to her for two more seasons. I'll wait one more season with Alien, but
after that we want a bigger boat. The 37 and 40 seem like good fun boats that
will do well for us. The 40 may be a bit too much boat while the 37 seems like
a more comfortable faster version of the 32. We're just lining up the options
for now, but Alien will be sold next summer for sure.
I'm open to suggestions, but the boat must have bunks for my height.

Actually, as of December 15th, we will have closed the deal via a
contract,
pending a final payment. She'll be dry through that time. The only bad
part is
we'll pay storage on the second boat, but can't use her.
We won't take the boat until 2005 of course, but that's when Suzanne
is done
with school. The only change is that we were supposed to wait an extra
year
before going bigger, but the deal is just too good, just like the 32.

Nutsy,

Not what you said a year ago. You said you were the ower of 2 boats and
the storage fees was your obligation?

Nutsy, ils been a bad week for you. hasn't it? You were busted on the
wind speed by the guy you were all over, for a wind estimate a lot
closer than yours
You were busted on your stern line.parting.
You were busted on your "Docking lines" even after you had pictures of
your docking line with shackles on the cleat.
and now, you've busted yourself about dual ownerships of sail boats

Going to take an awful lot of HONESTY to get anyone to take you serious
from now on

I hang my head in shame;--- for you, my friend and for your newborn, my
namesake.

The owner wants out if I can't wait the xtra season. He's a friend and I'm not
about to force him.
Sorry, Thom. Meanwhile, we're still talking it over. Also: Thomas is changing
things and an even larger boat, like the C&C 40 looks even more attractive.
