I think that that must be a sign of age. I am constantly saying "just the
other day" and when I think about it "the other day" could have been a few
years ago....

Hey, Mundo...how've ya been?
How do you like the CD 30 ketch? Do you have to motor a lot in light air. My
exgirlfriend has the CD30 on her shortlist.

Thanks,

I heard the state marina up there got smacked pretty hard last fall. Why
the move? Something happen in Onancock?

Welcome back!

Sold the biz...Divorced the wife...Kid recovered...Back in school full time
working on an electrical engineering degree...Moving the boat to Crisfield
so that I can sail when I want and not be controlled by the depth of the
channel. I can only get in and out 1 hour before and until a little after
the high tide. Also for the same money I pay here, the state marina has a
pool and a pretty good social scene. Single in Mayberry sucks!!!
Also better access to some of the western shore cruising grounds like
solomons and the potomac. I am tired of the lower lower bay.

If you like a boat that has nice lines and even sails in light air with a
light enough headsail then the CD 30 is a nice choice. I do not have the
fancy amenities like running hat and cold water or a shower but we manage
fine with the foot pump and a solar shower. The boat is incredibly kind in
the sort of short chop we experience here on the Chesapeake. I have been
told I have better taste in boats than I do in women...I would have to
agree. Now if I could find a woman with nice lines that beats well to
windward....

It sounds like a lot has been happening in your life. Oh well, they say
it is better than getting bored. BTW the best places to meet women are
in school and in church. Good luck with the EE degree.

There's just as many places to go, just further apart & more chances of
rough weather. We like the lower bay, but then haven't spent near the
time there that you have. Solomons is great if you want a break from the
Mayberry scene. My impression is that motorboats are getting more & more
prevalent though.

I've gone to church every Sunday for the last 47 years, and I've NEVER
met a woman in church. I met my current future wife at a strip club.

oh, there are women if church alright. often quite a lot of them, but you
certainly don't want to consider them as mate material. A mate you want to
talk to on a day after day basis, have sex with on a frequent basis.

Around here you meet women in bars or churches or both. They seem to run
hand in hand. Act like assholes all week and forgive them selves Sunday for
a fresh week of sin (Dear God, protect me from your followers) and a clean
bar tab. As far as school goes ..if you like fat chicks in tight hip
huggers? Well then, your all set. Around here they eat as well as the live
stock. When I was young there was a saying that "girls with bell bottoms
should'nt wear them." I prefer the high popolation areas for a variety of
intelect and looks. Kind of like shopping for a car at an auto mall.

The lower bay has a lot to offer. There are tons of places on the western
shore I need to see more of. Crisfield will still be a decent spot for me
that is not too far by car and will give me better access in general as far
as water depths go. Onancock creek is plenty deep. The problem is the only
marina near the mouth. There is a shoal which has gotten increasingly
shallower that crosses the small channel. My draft is at that breaking
point. I barely got out of there last January on the tide. I would like to
head to the boat on Fridays and know that there will be not only easy
access, but maybe a social scene at the marina as well. Speaking of social
scenes....Haggy are you guys still at the same docks? Might stop by if you
are Sunday on the way back from D.C. I still have the same numbers and
email.

That must save a lot of time! It also would go a long way towards
helping to prove the theory that God loves us, every one.

Rural NC seems to have that tendency too, but it's not universal.
There's always a few that are above the bell curve ;)

Agreed. We really enjoy the friends we have made in our marina. Not
everybody is so lucky though. I know there are sailing clubs in Oxford &
St Michaels but they're kind of stuck-up, also a long hike for you. How
about Cambridge? We loved the sailing club there.
