That would be like putting a diamond tiara on a pig!

LOL........... If my mid displacement fin keeler is a pig I'd hate to think of
the animal parallel to your tank.

So you agree that your scow is a pig?

Excellent!

Loco's boat is pretty fast for it's day, but like the J30 and other go-fast
designs of it's day it has aged badly. More moderate designs, such as my C&C
32, Cals, Pearson's and even Catalina have stood the test of time far better.
They were far more dual purpose than the failed Express 30. So in that respect,
the Express 30 is a pig. Not a very good cruiser and a badly outdated racer.
Loco would have done better to buy a C&C 30 and a J24 to take part in real
races.
But as you pointed out....he's an idiot.

LOL........... Once again you prove you know nothing about boats. How has
your 32' seventies era, old fashion stern slower boat fared better?
As far as my boat not being a great dual purpose boat please absorb this.
It's a wheel steered, mid displacement 144 rated thirty footer that carries a
full interior and an oven. Ain't many thirty footers like that. On the race
course I'd be in PHRF 'B' and you'd be in 'C' with the little and slow.
The only thing that's changed in the world is that today's 30 foot race
boats arre just that .... race boats.
Another nice try at trolling.

What an idiot. Let's answer his query anyway. Boats like a C&C 29, 32, Pearson
33 and so on all made an easy and designed transition to cruiser/racer. Boats
like the J30 and Express 30 simply lacked enough emphasis on cruising (The J's
terrible cockpit, the Express cheap looking interior) to make them winners down
the line, except for wannabe racers who couldn't handle the cost of a truly
fast boat. Of course the J, by virtue of it's name, did far better.
The Express 30 was a mistake not to be made again, since they didn't even last.
C&C (Tartan owned) is again making quick boats with a strong empasis on
cruising comfort, much like the old versions. They'll last, even after their
performance edge becomes dated.
Check the prices on a C&C 32, Loco. Average price is 35K. The C&C 29 averages
25K of the same vintage. These boats have retained a higher % of their original
cost and are older than your boat. Every Express 30 I've seen has sold for less
than 25K. Good performance doesn't pursuade people to own a hard lined design
with a poor interior, Loco.
Next time you'll know to make a better choice.

Fool, Express Yachts was founded by ex C&C people. The boat had an interior
that was far from cheap. Your only reference is the very early hull that you
saw for sale on the net and continuly refer to. I saw those pictures and
believe the interior was modified. I call a fast 30 footer with an oven a
pretty good "cruiser" I call a fast 30 footer that can sail upwind in 20kts
with a full main with only 2 aboard a pretty good "cruiser" I call a fast 30
footer with 5" cushins on berths for 6 a pretty good "cruiser"
The fact that Express fell by the wayside along with other high quality
builders like S2 and Olson means nothing. C&C has gone bankrupt more times
than most people can count. We'll see how long they last this time after
everybody that wants a 99 buys one. I think the 2 bigger models have already
slowed to next to nothing. Your comment that they are much better is pretty
stupid. Hell it's only 20 years later. What an idiot.

You're busted again. I've posted pics of the Express 30 interior from 3
websites and they all SUCK! Everything looks cheap compared to my 32 and
certainly compared to a J30.

A year after I posted those pics, Loco "decides" that the boat was
modified!!!!!! Bwahahahaha!
