Welcome Back...to ME!!!!
Note that this group has now returned to sailing discussions now that I've returned. There is no doubt that I'm the captain & leader of this group and that it swirls out of control when I'm off for a season of sailing. Look at the threads!!! Mostly sailing related now! Welcome back to me!!!! Robert B Alt.Sailing.Asa Captain |
You??? Bah!
Look at the work I've done.... I 've gotten you back to slammin' Loco and bickering with Scotty Doug is now engaged in his favourite pastime of discussing engineering intricacies with Nav. Joe is picking on Ozzy Ganz is practicing his wit... The universe is unfolding as it should once more I believe my work here may be done! Bart,

There is some hope. He'll soon be busy changing diapers. Don't forget to ease the Topping Lift, Nutsy, Give the Kid some dancing room (Ball Room) Let's let Nutsy learn to be a Daddy before a Captain of ASA Ole Thom |

For shame, Thomas Stewart... I never thought I would see the day that you
would denigrate any person who SAILS any type of boat (other than nutsy...) Doug has proven time and time again that he has more than adequate knowledge of sailing. Just because you disagree on technical things here and there does not mean he is not just as well received a sailor as any of the rest of us (except nutsy...). Maybe he means the Doug who owned & raced custom 2-Tonner before he had the trailerable Hunter... surely you're not falling into Boobsie's folly of thinking that having the biggest boat means the best sailor? If you happen to pick up a copy of this months "Passagemaker" magazine, there's an article in it about hurricane preparation that features our marina. What a time to get promoted to Capt. Good luck, old friend Thank you... about this time of year I reflect on how nice it would be to live in a place where hurricanes are not such a threat. I couold sure live with early sunsets, for example! Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
I beg to differ, Doug does not discuss engineering but blusters. Look at
the "cosine" issue to demonstrate this! He's really shown how little he knows with that error! Cheers Capt. Mooron wrote: You??? Bah! Look at the work I've done.... Scotty I always said the topping lift was better situated to lift a load. And that's wrong. It's not a case for *always*. Did you ever realize that the tension on the topping lift was greater than the weight, and the forces on the mast were also multiples of the weight load? I don't think you tried to understand what I was trying to explain. I am not a particularly good explainer, but your mind seems to be made up regardless of the above facts. DSK |
