from the "Huddle Masses" of people around the world. So what? Are you
saying this is the best place to live? Are you saying we have better
athletes because we are a better place to live, to train, to make a

I'm saying that with the bulk numbers you have,
a) there's a much better pool so you have a better chance of finding
elite athletes.

b) when you do find em you them have a much greater depth.
Look at Alana Pittman..she blows up a knee and any chance we have of
a
medal in hurdles is gone. The US would have a dozen in the wings.

c)we don't have a college sportscholarship scheme to attract elite
sports people from all over the world. I know many go back and play
for their own country, but quite a few stay and become US citizens.
Again adding to the depth of talent.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not grouching.
We do OK for a country with a pop that's hopefullyless than the
number
of US citizens who play sport. :-)
