We got more than we expected..... of course we don't have the funding like
they do in the USA nor the Centers like they have in Australia. The
Canadian Athletes that won medals did it all on their own without undue
taxpayer input. Now they will have backing from corporate sponsors due to
their medals. The way it should be. You guys run Olympic Competition like a
Communist Country!

Who?

If you mean the athletes... Nah the Gov. pays their way over.. that's a
given. They don't contribute much more than a paltry tippence to a very
limited few for the training though. There is no Olympic Athletic Training
Programs in Canada Thom. These Kids are mostly self sponsored.

I guess it just does not matter all that much to us here. No big news that
we weren't going to win many medals.... if any..... going into the games. We
got a couple so far.... word is we're doing fairly well in the canoe &
kayak divisions.... go figure Eh!?

BTW - How in the hell did we get a Gold in Cycling.... nobody bicycles up
here... and she's like 38 years old!
