the stonewalling of stem cell research would be a bit less
horrifying. Okay, maybe not.

I thought Bush was the first pres to fund stem cell research and there are
no restrictions on stem cell research of any kind (name one), just
restrictions on government funding of certain kinds of research and since
there was no government funding prior to Bush, nothing has been restricted.
They are just given funds to advance certain types of stem cell research.
The liberal media has sucked you in.

All this shows is your ability to overstep the lines of good taste and sound

Attacks like in Kuwait?

That's one that should be revisited because, in hindsight, it appears the
elder Bush MAY have set Saddam up. Yasee Saddam was strapped for cash after
fighting Iran's Muslim extremists to a draw and TWICE asked the US
Ambassador what the US would do if he annexed Kuwait. She twice told him
'Nothing, why would we care?'. But when he did all hell fell on him and
Bush's popularity skyrocketed. Of course the alternative is that Bush Sr
was too stupid to have done that. Look at his kid.

So Mooron, where do you think they get stem cells from?
Bob has been a ardent supporter of SCR.

And what is stepping over the boundry of good taste and sound
judgement? Just how young should a embyro be to rip it from the womb
and take the stem cells for your own purpose, or money?

Did I step over the line because I suggested he use his own, instead
of someone elses? Help me out here, I hate to be politically incorrect
or rude.

You know nothing about SCR if you think a fetus is
used for them. It's right-wing propoganda. Even
Nancy Reagan knows better, and that's not saying
much.

Jon,

The stem cell is the origin of life. At stated first by the great
pathologist Rudolph Virchow, "All cells come from cells." The ultimate
stem cell, the fertilized egg, is formed from fusion of the haploid
progeny of germinal stem cells. The fertilized egg is totipotent; from
it forms all the tissues of the developing embryo. During development
of the embryo, germinal stem cells are formed, which persist in the
adult to allow the cycle of life to continue. In the adult, tissue is
renewed by proliferation of specialized stem cells, which divide to
form one cell that remains a stem cell and another cell that begins
the process of differentiation to the specialized function of a mature
cell type. Normal tissue renewal is accomplished by the
differentiating progeny of the stem cells, the so-called
transit-amplifying cells. For example, blood cells are mature cells
derived from hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow; the lining
cells of the gastrointestinal tract are formed from transit-amplifying
cells, progeny of stem cells in the base of intestinal glands.

So tell us Jonathan... you know it all, just where do think most stem
cells used in research come from? Where is the source of the best stem
cells?

I thought you would like that. But the fact is, even you were a
embyro-fetus-child-gay adult. One great source of stem cells comes
from cord blood btw, you know.... that thing your mother chewed off to
get away from you asap.

Im all for any research that will save lives, just as long as your
not making and taking lives to do it.

Odd... I'm a Right to Life with understanding that it's neither my choice
nor my body.

No Joe... you stepped over the line when you suggested he kill his own
offspring which he is wanting and waiting for. That's the line Joe.....
when someone aborts for a reason... I can't stand in judgment of that. But
if the life is to be terminated than it's fitting it should be utilized for
good rather than disposed of uselessly. That's the whole point of the
matter.

The issue here is not Pro Life vs Pro Choice...... some abortions are
required for diverse reasons. Why waste the gift for some rather paltry and
self effacing values that in the grand scheme of things are ultimately
misguided.

Wishing some days that I had a clone to share the load...
