Has anybody noticed the subject of this thread? Kerry didn't drive "Swift
Boats". IIRC they were "Riverine Craft". SEALS used Swift Boats to create the Gulf of Tonkin Incident .... but y'all already knew all that. |

The Navy used PBR's. A friend of mine drove one. But apparently there were different models. According to http://www.njnavy.com/boats.htm PBM Mk 1 and 2 were 31 foot fiberglass boats. Swiftships made a number of models from 38 to 77 feet plus two "Riverine" models; one a 45' aluminum hull. Did the Brown Water Navy use them? |

Did the Brown Water Navy use them? The link you posted is to the NEW Swiftship boats. Not the Vietnam Era boats. The Swift Boat crews were on Swiftships boats. They made all types including the riverine boats. So the riverine guys can call themselfs Swiftboat crew. They also make some very nice crewboats, I've ran several. Infact I ran my favorate crewboat the Texas Willie a 110 footer triple screw 1271TI Swiftship for 5 years, one year I was on that boat 360 days. They make the best riding high speed hull in the world. Joe |
