Because the greater the risk the more cowards will vote for him! Ya'see the
kinds of people likely to support Bush are sorry excuses for Americans anyway, eager to cast off the liberty our forebearers sacrificed and died for on the promise of safety - and the scareder they are the more likely they are to vote for Bush and his nazi-like measures. Nobody promised my ancestor safety when he arrived in 1730 and moved to the frontier. America offered him opportunity if he could survive, but safety? Forget it! No government defended him or his descendents nor their property from indian attack even during the "bloody sevens" (1777) - the people themselves took up arms and fought off Brit inspired attacks just as Americans had always done. They even had to fight the government itself during the war of Yankee Aggression, when gangs calling themselves militia sacked the town and burned their mill. And lest you think I'm bragging, let me hasten to point out that this was the norm of that day. Were it not we wouldn't be here! In Jefferson's day real patriots would have given the sponsors of the "Patriot Act" a fair and speedy trial and hanged the lot of them for treason and sedition! Today, the Fearful Majority is preparing to re-elect them and the greater the perceived threat the more of them will vote for safety at any price. "Bart Senior" wrote Rush Limbaugh (asked) .... "How does Bush benefit from America being at greater risk?" |
