Face it, GW Bush is the worst thing to happen to the US Military since LBJ
and Kennedy's Whiz Kids. He's spending $billions/month, and killing our best and finest, to "liberate" Iraq, just like LBJ did to "liberate" Vietnam and, like LBJ, he's delaying and even cancelling critical military R&D and procurement to pay for his blunder. Thanks to LBJ, American pilots were flying planes designed decades earlier, generations behind the Soviets and even the French! Thanks to GWB, American pilots are flying F-18s which like the Phantom are a good plane but decades old, instead of the latest stealth fighters. Thanks to LBJ our troops faced the soviets with outdated tanks - Abrams development having been delayed because funds had been diverted to 'nam. How old is the Abrams today? Is a replacement on the way anytime soon? Why not? Why are the scientists and engineers working to improve the Tomahawk systems that have proved so valuable looking for work? Because the money got shot up in Iraq! We're burning up so much ammo - billions of round at well over $1/each - that we're forced to buy Brit and Israeli surplus. I won't get into the parallels between LBJs war and GWBs war on military moral. Nor will I speculate on what the folks who maintain our waterways could do with the $billions Bush is blowing in Iraq. Bush supporters like Joe must really hate our military. |

Your Nutter than a pecan pie. Since 911 thinks have been allot different. We must now go out find and kill the terrorist before they kill us. It's that plain and simple. As you can see every night on TV terrorist are in Iraq. I rather kill them in Iraq than in Texas, makes such a mess ya know. bussiness is booming and has been for a while in the military sector. They can not find enough engineers. I know your full of it on that one. It's the best tank in the world. Who are we in a arms race with? Tanks are going to obselete soon. It will all be ROV's We can keep the abram updated enough to go against any tank on earth and win. Is a replacement on the way anytime soon? Why not? See above Why are the scientists and engineers working to improve the Tomahawk systems that have proved so valuable looking for work? Because the money got shot up in Iraq! Because they have moved on to better things. We're burning up so much ammo - billions of round at well over $1/each - that we're forced to buy Brit and Israeli surplus. Who says? Back it up..... I know you and Kerry would have them using slingshots.... Regardless we will buy and Mfg all we need to finish the job. It a good thing to replace all your ammo every few years anyway. I won't get into the parallels between LBJs war and GWBs war on military moral. Of course you wont. The Troops Love Bush, and like last time they voted the will elect Bush Nor will I speculate on what the folks who maintain our waterways could do with the $billions Bush is blowing in Iraq. Dont get all upset, Iraq will pay us back. Your marina owner needs to dredge his own channel. Why do you insist that the man do... what your landlord shoud do? Bush supporters like Joe must really hate our military. Like this guy in Bagdad right Vito? (EXCERPT) June 4 (Bloomberg) -- Angered by the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington, Tom Garloch joined the U.S. Army and went to Iraq, helping to secure a town northeast of Baghdad. Now home in Columbus, Ohio, Garloch is volunteering in another fight: getting President George W. Bush re-elected. ``He's my hero,'' Garloch, 26, said in a telephone interview. ``I find it a source of inspiration that there's a guy up there in charge of it all that has some staying power, who means what he says and says what he means.'' Garloch's support reflects Bush's sway with a majority of the nation's 26 million veterans even as Democratic challenger John Kerry seeks to weaken the Republican advantage by touting his Navy service in Vietnam. Kerry, who today is announcing a 50-state effort to organize 1 million veterans to help him, had the support of 41 percent of them in a CBS News poll last month. Bush, 57, will be able to reinforce his role as commander in chief at events such as Sunday's visit to Normandy, marking the 60th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of France by Allied forces in World War II. Polls also show that most Americans consider Bush more capable than Kerry, 60, a four-term Massachusetts senator, on national security issues. ``They'll get more military votes than we will because the military has a tendency to be Republican,''... ****** So it is plain and clear Vito is a Kerry type person. He is two faced, Lies like a dog, and will try to twist the truth. Why you ask? So us tax payers have to give him a fat welfare check, blocks of cheese, and dredge the channel up to his lousy marina. He's just in it for the bucks. Joe |

Stealth fighters are not that--they are stealth bombers.
You are comparing apple with oranges and making loose comparisions that make little sense, like the rest of your post. The F-18 is a totally differenty type of aircraft. Most American pilots in the Middle East are flying F-15's and F-16's with thrust to weight ratios greater than 1, can accellerate straight up. The F-18 is comparable technology --which can by no means be compared to the F-4 Phantom which is 1960's technology. The F-15K is the best bird flying today, and flown by the best pilots in the world.. The future? The F-22, coming soon to a war near you. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-22.htm Vito wrote even the French! And I would imagine that the stealth aricraft were withdrawn from the theater ops once the initial strikes were carried out and more conventional forces were in place. The F-18 is a totally differenty type of aircraft. Agreed. The F-18 is a great plane strike aircraft with air superiority capabilities. It is hardly an antique, it's service life has not yet approached that of the venerable F-4. Most American pilots in the Middle East are flying F-15's and F-16's with thrust to weight ratios greater than 1, can accellerate straight up. The F-18 is comparable technology --which can by no means be compared to the F-4 Phantom which is 1960's technology. Except that the F-4 was an exceptional plane in it's day, as is the F-15 and F-18. The F-15K is the best bird flying today, and flown by the best pilots in the world.. It's a BIG plane with awesome capabilities... by far the best air superiority fighter in current service. BTW one of their primary training bases is Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro NC. We see them all the time, I'll say hello for you next time we drive by ;) The F-16 is a fast-turnaround forward deployable joint mission plane that is intended to be cheaper, easier to maintain, and able to serve in some ground attack roles. Obviously it has to give up something as a straight air-to-air fighter, and it does. All this goobledygook like "forward deployable" sounds like gibberish but it means something with regard to military strategy & tactics. It's like describing how knights, bishops, rooks etc move & capture in a game of chess. The future? The F-22, coming soon to a war near you. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-22.htm They were talking about developing a carrier-capable version of the F-22 but I haven't heard about that for a while. It's been in the pipeline for a long time. Regards Doug King |

a day or two before the 4th of july, i was aboard, when hearing the sound of
what i thought was a VERY low flying jet, i hit my hit on the companionway (2nd time this happened) to discover that not more than 150-200 feet in altitude, 4 fighters roared overhead. i don't know what they were, as i don't have the specific knowledge to differentiate models: but they are impressive. for a while this was an unsettling common site and sound here in NY. i remember hearing them roar up and down the hudson river at 2:00-3:00-4:00 in the morning. my office is along the hudson river and would see then during the day many times. then there are the coast guard gun ships that patrolled and guarded key places around NY. indian point nuclear facility NY harbor the entrance to hells gate..............effectively surrounding NYC. in fact one night, shortly after 9/11 i decided to go sailing to get away from the smoke dust, and solemn event which enveloped this city. (have a habit of sailing at night) when the coast guard decided it may be in they're interest to understand what a sailboat was doing out at 2:00 am. they were Professional and Serious. for all the political crap flying these days, i'm impressed by the highly focused and effective effort of this government and this administration (not withstanding other criticisms i may have).............perhaps out in the wheatfields or the west coast, people don't understand this, i don't know and can't speak to that (and no offense intended). That's right Bart - if you're stuck in the past and present. The F-22 is a stealthy fighter, is it not? The URL says it is. So why are we talking about bombers? Future fighters will be even more stealthy if we can afford to develop and build them and pay for Bush's Folly too. If that's beyond you I'm sure little of what I say makes sense to you. The F-22, coming soon to a war near you. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-22.htm So let me put it in a way even you might understand. Is the F-22 better? Yes! When will they replace what we're flying now? When we can afford to buy them of course. Wouldn't that happen sooner if we were NOT wasting $BILLIONs on Bush's Folly? Of Course! Meantime, our pilots a flying planes that are not as good as F-22s - right? That means GWB is screwing our guys just like LBJ did to finance his folly. Now ask "How's the development of planes even better than the F-22 coming along?" Answer: not as well as it would if the project had more funds - like some of the $$$ wasted in Iraq. So future generations of pilots will be flying F-22s after they're outdated too. That's how Bush is screwing the military. Get the point? |
