I just watched "Capt Ron" again with an eye to determining
exactly what boat was used in the movie.

My kids just made me watch _50 First Dates_ with them. I believe it's
the same boat in that movie, too.

What is the real name of the boat?

What color are it's topsides?

Wanderer I think..

I forget, Has a cool galley table that has a lion carved on it. All of
the inside shots in the movie were a movie set in Hollywood.

What color are it's topsides?

Hull is forest green I think the topside were off white. It may still
be at the Kemah boardwalk not sure. It was 5+ years or so ago that we
went aboard.

I bought that movie a few weeks ago and watched it with my sons. Now my
youngest son wants to learn how to sail.

It's a nice boat, I'd like to have one like it.

They did at the time, not so sure if they do anymore. But if you
asked the owner Im sure he would be happy to show off his boat.

There is one similar to it for sale near me. The people have
been cruisng for a few years. They are broke and paying
$1500 a month combined for storage and morgage. They
would sell it for what they owe on it. I'm not sure what that
is. Possibly as low as $80-90k.

This one is green, huge, and a dry ride, but a bit of work
maintaining the brightwork. What else is there to do when
you are cruising? There is a special place in heaven for
varnishers.

I've sailed a few boats like it. Youl could easily pile 15-16
people on board and not feel crowded.

Joe, the topsides are the portion of the hull above the waterline.

So the topsides are green and the deck is white? Green is a good
color.

Bart, I like the way you post. Interesting, rambling non-sequiturs, sort of
like Bob Perry's column in Sailing.

Gee I always thought that was the hull, once it reaches the deck then
it is the topsides. Oh well you learn something new every day.
