Default FREE Lunch !

Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as a free lunch. Sailing back from
Rock Hall we anchored out from the Balt. Sailing Center to have lunch and
watch the 'kids' sailing dinghies. The kid in the chase boat came by and
asked if we wanted a ride into shore, we accepted. They invited us to their
BBQ. Good food and conversation with fellow sailors, a nice walk on the
beach, then a ride back to our boat on their skiff. My idea of a nice (free)
afternoon.

Ick.

Oh well, I'd probably eat it too, my momma raised me to be polite. And
being free makes it taste better

Officially it draws 3'9" but we go through mud pretty easily. The
depthsounder is approx 20" below the waterline and it occasionally says
things like 1.4 or 1.2 . That's when 135hp and a 26x28 prop come in handy.

I bet we could do a good job pulling other boats off... maybe I should
rent it out to Joe?

It was good eatins, free or knot.

Reason I asked; we anchored way up creek to get away from the noisy
powerboaters. in 4' of water, us and a small Tanzer, but up creek a bit was
a trawler, slightly bigger than yous. They had a gen. running but was hardly
noticable and shut it off later. Looked a little out of place, too big for
the creek.

Glad he had the curtesy to shut off the genset.

Anchoring in better spots is one of the best benefits of shallow draft.
We anchor in tight spots sometimes, although this time of year I tend to
go out into the open more... gets us away from the mosquitoes.

No need to rent it to me, I have a 120 HP and a 21 square. I can
usually pull myself off anything I get onto, and I towed a half dozen
or so sailboats off reefs.

As for the trawler here aground I could go get him, But I do not like
the guy enough to risk my home saving his ass.
