Our first race of the season (and my first yacht race) was in winds of 29-45
knots, and most of the crew were scratch. We took line honours, and missed 1st by 40sec on handicap. Full main, no2 jib, and the spinnaker on the first downwind leg. Yeah, but you didn't have a crowded boat with a few folks who never sailed before, including two children and a guy in his 80s. 30 knots aint the best for that. RB |
