Force 10 grill from West Marine is a huge improvement over the lame Magma
units. Hinged top instead of wire and washer! Better more even cooking! Wind baffle, easily cleaned grease catcher and a mount that is better by far than the wet noodle magma mount. It's about as large as the Magma party size. It's typically 179.00....on sale for 116.00 for Memorial day weekend!!!! With mount and blue cover....about 200.00. Oh, and it didn't discolor when fired up, like the el-cheapo Magma! See my "better grill" at.... http://hometown.aol.com/bobsprit/images/grill.jpg RB |

I have never understood the purpose of a cover for one of these boat
grills. The blue cover matches my other canvas...but otherwise I agree with you. RB |

Get a 2' length of 4"PVC pipe. Drill some holes in a 4" cap and
solvent weld it to the bottom. Place a loose cap on top, attach it to your stern rail and you have vented propane storage for 3 spare cans. Cheap metal rusts and must be protected from rain???
Cheers felton wrote: I have never understood the purpose of a cover for one of these boat grills. All they seem to do is provide a refuge for spiders and allow dirt and crap to accumulate between uses. I just keep mine secured with a bungee cord and allow mother nature to help keep it clean. Those covers are just magnets for nastiness. I do agree that the Magmas are not exactly the pinnacle of engineering excellence, but I make do with one. |
