Im interested in a "serious "unit. I presently have a Garmin 48
mounted below decks at the nav station, hard wired, but removeable for on deck back up. At the helm I have a Raytheon 298(?) alpha-numeric hardwired and tied into the autopilot. Marc, are you looking for a "serious" unit or a handheld such as the 76s from Garmin. There is nothing wrong with charts and your old unit, BTW. When we take possession of the new boat, we're installing a unit that has radar/GPS/Charplotter, which I feel makes sense against stand-alone units. They are no longer expensive. RB |
