Hybrid...wow!
I'm test driving a Toyota Prius today, loaned to me by my dealer. I drove it
around last night and was pretty impressed. We may buy one next summer for the MPG, though a small wagon would work better. I think a Prius fits in with sailing nicely, making a big environmental statement...but what about the battery waste? RB |

Hey, I think riding horses is animal abuse. In studies done in Europe, ALL horses showed signs of distress when people used them for transport. The horses tolerate it. Poor things. If they could talk, they say, "Hey, get off of my back!" RB |

Most riding horses today are the spoiled pets of teen age girls who lavish attention on them. If one horse is going out for a trot all the others display obvious jealousy. BTW, for those who enjoy young women, there's no better place to meet them than a stable. |

But a dance class would be a better place to meet young women. Generally prettier and more physical than the horsey type, but not as rich on average. The absolute best place to meet women is in church. Advice from a happily married man... can't do better than that! ;) Regards Doug King |

Works great in stop and go city traffic where gas engines spend over half their lives idling at stop lights, but otherwise it sucks. Doesn't get as good mileage as their standard car even in suburban use and gets alot worse on the highway where its poor performance makes it a hazard on the road. If you're unfortunate enough to live *in* a city then the fuel savings and tax benefit might overcome the extra investment someday. They commute into DC. It doesn't. |

where gas engines spend over half their lives idling at stop lights, but otherwise it sucks. This is a new 2004 model and it seems to have reasonable power on the highway. I'll let you know about the MPG, but we drove it 80 miles last night and the fuel meter barely moved. My Outback drinks gas by comparison. The STI is worse unless you drive easy. Our friend's new Prius averages 45-50 MPG overall. RB |

Meet her for WHAT? A hymm? What a loser Doug is. Explains a lot. This guy probably hasn't had sex in a long long time. I bet he also busted a fan belt when Janet popped her boob on TV! The best place to meet a woman is...SAILING. But you need a SAILboat for that, Doug! RB |

Hey Idiot, is this a sailing question?

Spoken like a true liberal. You want to buy a Prius to "make a statement" -
it's all about fashion for you. The average New Yorker drives 6,000 miles a year. At 45 mpg that's 133 gallons. At 25 mpg (your Subaru) that's 240 gallons. The difference is a whopping 107 gallons or $214/year or about $18/month. The difference in insurance and registration for the Prius eats that up easily. Did you major in economics? To get a tax break one must pay taxes. Did you tell NY or NYC about your
business run on eBay? If you are claiming that as income you're a bigger idiot than is conceptually possible. If you aren't claiming, let me know so I can report you to the NYC tax collector, they can use the money. Ooops, almost forget, Suzanne will get the tax break. You should of married the Soviet doctor instead of the trade school nurse. Or did she demand you get a real job? 15K a year! That's almost 500 gallons! If you are so cheap and want to make a real statement why don't you walk? Lots of people will see you then, plus it's good for your health. Bicycle? Mass transit to good for Mr. Liberal? Well, we used the Prius for nearly two days. It's a small car that feels bigger
inside, but it's STILL small. On the highway it did fine. Lack of cargo space is a factor and it's a bit harsh for long drives. I'm not sure what the MPG was, but it was FAR beyond anything we've ever seen. We never added gas since leaving the dealer and there's still more than half a tank. I feel as though we got 50 MPG or so. We may get one to replace the Outback next season and trade the STI in for a Forester Turbo XT. RB |
Hybrid...wow!
Should be a great little toy truck especially after the local guy
installs the twin turbos :-) Shhh! You're gonna upset Loco and his Lincoln! BTW, did you see the silly speed on a stock Subaru Forester? It's actually pretty funny and it handles nicely as well. I'll probably swap out the suspension and add big sway bars to handle all the torque, but I won't touch the engine. 0-60 in 5.3 seems just fine for a mini SUV. It'll be great fun beating up on Boxters on Long island. RB |
Hybrid...wow!
Man, the Holden looks a lot like the Subaru legacy turbo!
RB |
Hybrid...wow!
Why would I want an Alpha with a hardtop?
RB |

Because its quicker that an M3 and STI.
Pizzaz! But still slower than Loco's warp drive Lincoln! RB |

Yes, the dealer loaned you a car for days and let you run up hundreds of
miles. Do you also own the Brooklyn Bridge? Nice try. BC "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Well, we used the Prius for nearly two days. It's a small car that feels bigger inside, but it's STILL small.
