What's the harbor like? How far are you from the famous
Lizard? And what the heck is that anyway--a rock? Bart Donal wrote "Bart Senior" wrote Who is the most famous sailor that started and ended a voyage from Falmouth. 1 pt. Donal. Regards Donal |

Chichister sailed around the world, making one
stop in 1966. Alex Rose did it with two stops in 345 days. Lashes to all of you. The correct answer is Robin Knox-Johnston who sailed around the world, non-stop, although he did anchor in New Zealand after running aground. His vessel was an all teak yacht he built in India bermudan ketch named Suhaili, All three of these men were knighted. I read his book when it first came out in the late 60's. It was inspirational to me as a kid and got me thinking about ocean sailing. I recently re-read his book, "A World of My Own". One interesting thing was the lack of a watch he kept during his 313 day voyage even in the shipping lanes. He assumed that all ships kept as good a watch as he did working in the merchant service. He didn't come to this realization until the end of his voyage. Today we all know better. Chances are very good that no one is on watch in the big ships. They are more like to not see you, than see you. Bart Senior |

Perhaps you should define 'most famous'. Many famous sailors have sailed
from falmouth, myself included. Cheers Bart Senior wrote: Who is the most famous sailor that started and ended a voyage from Falmouth. 1 pt. |
