_Fresh Water Fishes of CHina_?????Rare???? The book or freshwater fish in
China? $299.00????You're a really weird dude, Bobby.... Katy, Most of my Chapman collection is sold. The last two books sold for over 1500. You might want to do a google search on Roy Chapman Andrews, not that I'd expect you to have any science history in your background. RB |

On some boats they look good, and perform a needed function, on other boats
it looks like the owner is simply buying all the 'bolt on' crap he can afford. SV "katysails" wrote in message ... Scotty observed: I don't like the looks of dodgers on small boats. We had a dodger on the O'Day...hated the thing and don't have one on Chantuese...they impede vision, create drag, and make a further deck hazard....we decided foulies and ski goggles work just as well and since the slide hatch keeps out the weather from the companionway, there was no need. I noticed in several of your pics that the radar is angled up 5 or 10 degrees.
You should correct this because the beam width on that unit is only 12.5 degrees below horizontal. If you bow comes up a few degrees (as in, when powering) you won't see anything ahead except low flying aircraft. -jeff "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Alien has had a 2nd Xmas this year with my Ebay sideline and boat sales.... Hope all of you are enjoying this season, which has started off nicely here. Sunday had some flukey air, but plenty of it. Here's Alien with her new dodger. She also has a lot of new hardware not pictured. http://hometown.aol.com/bobsprit/images/al3.jpg More items added to ebay for sailors all the time at: http://tinyurl.com/2gmu3 Glad to see that my name carries on with imposters, lame as they are! I would imagine the same goes for LIS. Now a bimini, otoh, would be fairly useful just about anywhere. John Cairns |

Yup, might get a bimini one of these days. I realize the benefits of a
dodger, I just don't like the look (on a small boat). Scotty "John Cairns" wrote in message ... "katysails" wrote in message ... Scotty observed: I don't like the looks of dodgers on small boats. What with the way the dodger attaches to the side looks like it is not
snug to the combing, like it sticks out a few inches on the side and is a trip hazard? You're right to a degree, but it seems to be pretty snug, maybe a bit under an inch of play at the top of the coaming. I could add one more fastner easily. Everyone likes it so far and it's not too tall. I'll add a new pic for a profile view. I think the designer did a good job keeping in with the lines of the boat. In just one week, two other sailboats saw it and wanted his number. He's more expensive than Doyle or UK though. But at least it's not a cookie cutter dodger like the ones I usually see. Today I'm installing a Wempe Barometer, Hydrometer and clock. all matching brass instruments with opening bezzles. RB |
