At 30 knots in the bay you will not be able to sail your Mac. Were
talking about 5 footers spaced about 10 to 20 feet apart. And you
will have so much windage I doubt you will be able to motor. And with
that flat bottom if your not swamped your crew will be violently
tossed over.

At 30 knots with one reef Im just getting up to hull speed and
crusing in comfort.

That's obviously one fast boat.


It's not that fast a boat Jim. Im lucky to hit the 9-10 knot range
surfing down a wave. What it is thou is stable, and steady in
conditions that most want to run back the dock or boat ramp and get
out of. The bay is not the best area for redcloud since I can not
lower the board all the way. With the board down all the way we have
sailed with a 100% jib, main and mizzen in 30 knots steady but we were
a bit overpowered but racing in the Harvest moon. Not going to race
offshore anymore, I saw the regettas we did as shake downs to cruise.

But I will do some racing here in the bay. Inshore just about ever
other boat can beat us, unless it's a MacMorph.

Great, Ill give you plenty of notice, Hopefully we can pick a day with a
nice breeze, 30+ knots or so, no were near 70, but still enough to get us moving.
