Joe,
"Spray" was indeed a Oyster Dredge that was a Derelict and laying in a field, when it was given to "Josh Slocum" He restored it and re-rigged it to a Ketch. The re-rig was so successful that it would hold course for hours with the helm tied down, It was also "Josh's" tomb. He set sail in it in his 80's never to be heard from again!! Neal and I often wrote one another about him. Thinking that was a "WAY" for a sailor to go. My Myastenia Graves just about eliminated me from the "WAY" Every time Neal goes missing from the group, I often wonder??? Ole Thom |
