SPAM!! (that tries to ignore the $10,000 in options the guy bought in 1997)

"MacGREGOR 26X, 1997. Nissan 50 hp, 100 hours. Jib, genoa, VHF, autopilot,
compass, depth, fishfinder, 3 batteries, perco, 12v refrigeration,

pressurized
water system, bimini. 40 gal custom aluminum fuel tank, prop guard.

Trailer,
new tires, spare. Always covered. $13,995. Antioch, Delta. Call (805)

999-9999
(cell)."

If the guy gets his asking price, it means he "only" spent $16,000, plus

the
sales tax on the original price, plus operating expenses to use his boat

for
100 hours in seven years, or about $250 per hour for about 15 hours each

year.
I bet you could get laid for that kind of money, and have your choice of

hair
color and breast size.

1. If he bought the boat in 1997, he didn't spend anywhere near what
the new Macs cost this year. His basis is substantially lower, and his
depreciation corresponds with the selling price and is also
substantially lower than you suggest. You really ought to get your facts
straight before posting libelous statements like that one.

2. The fact that he didn't have time to take the boat out more often is
no more significant than the fact that most of the owners of large boats
in our marina don't take their boats out often. .. Jax, I don't know
whether telling the truth is of any interest to you (probably not), but
you should really consider taking a course in logic and statistics and
intellectual honesty before you spout libelous garbage like that on the www.

Nope. He only bought $7,743 in options. (In other words, you really
don't know what you are talking about, do you JAX?)

so he has a $37,743.00 into his boat and 6-1/2 years later (and only 200 hours
usage of the boat) he is *asking* less than 50% of that.

Nice.
