Default which wax works ?

Have a sailboat in LI Sound, and the water line and up get *very* dirty
within weeks . Normal soap didn't work -I just cleaned the hull with an
acid based cleaner( which suggests organic matter inside the outer layers of
gelcoat and glass ) , and it looks fine - now what ? Some years ago I
compounded and then waxed - the wax must help some - if I put a heavy coat
of wax on (which wax ?) will this tend to make cleaning easier ?

With a boat in LIS I suggest you try the New Clorox Toilet bowl cleaner
with Teflon. Just kedge your boat as good as you can and spray on a good coat.

We use Meguire's cleaner/wax at the boatyard.
