Have a sailboat in LI Sound, and the water line and up get *very* dirty
within weeks . Normal soap didn't work -I just cleaned the hull with an acid based cleaner( which suggests organic matter inside the outer layers of gelcoat and glass ) , and it looks fine - now what ? Some years ago I compounded and then waxed - the wax must help some - if I put a heavy coat of wax on (which wax ?) will this tend to make cleaning easier ? |

You cannot best the 3 step system of McQuiers Wax.
it takes time and muscle.. but the results are worth it. -- Longing to be closer to to the sun, the wind and the sea! Spiritually at: Latitude 21 degrees 19' 9" North. _!_ Longtitude 157 degrees 56' 31" West. Aloha! ___o_(_)_o___ q |

![]() OzOnescribbled thusly: I use it once a year on the car to clean off the grot then do them again with the Gold class clearcoat liquid. Try it on an inconspicuous spot just to make sure. The paint might be different .... Good idea. I've been pretty happy with Turtle wax so far but I'd like something to protect Clementine around boatyards. Seahag |

I've been going thru my Spring Spaz...I actually got my foot caught in a dinghy painter and took a header. Luckely I didn't damage the buffer or lose much of the Meguires! Good thing I'm so limber after a year here...my back is killing me tho from singlehandedly yanking the stove out of it's brackets, disconnecting the propane, and setting the bitch up on the sink. Would have been a lot easier if I'd pulled the iron plate out of it first! Seahag |
