Hell an old safety pin, TP roll, razor
blade , and a little copper wire and a block you can build you a basic
RDF.

*actually* replace the tp roll with a bit of quartz rock picked up off the
ground, forget the razor blade and you are right.

I built a crystal set as such when I was in grade school, as did 000's of men
as boys my father's age.
