In June of 2003 almost 30 Mac26x cruisers and a few new 26Ms gathered in
Liberty Bay (DogFish Bay) in Washington State to learn about racing and compare vessels. But there really wasn't enough wind to race, less than 15 knots. The venue was changed, rigs were dropped, tanks were emptied and a powerboat race began. The winner was a 26M (Hull # 3) with 3 people aboard and a maximum speed of just under 14 knots! Older X models took second and third managing to beat other Ms. Next year we're hoping for an even bigger showing and bigger winds. RB |
