jeffies, you were invited to post an aerial photo, but it seems you don't know
what either "aerial" or "photo" means. strange, strange, strange isn't just how hard jeffies -- driver of a motorized training wheels and prior owner of an old man's boat (that IS how the builder of jeffies prior boat does in fact advertise its product) -- works to claim *his* assessment of the waters around Cape Hatteras are superior to that of a career merchant marine with a couple decades ocean racing experience and who had rounded the Cape a number of times in the past. training wheels drivers tend to think that wearing training wheels solves all issues. I can see your problem, jaxie. This picture only shows about 1000 yards off the beach. If you went anywhere near this you'd be in serious trouble! Diamond Shoal Light is about 10 miles offshore. Although you can cut inside of it, there's probably no need. At any rate, you'd want to stay at least 6 of seven miles off shore - that picture of yours is less than that in total width. Give it up, jaxie, you're just proving that your navigational skills are abysmal! Its a good thing all you do is hitch rides as a swabbie! "JAXAshby" wrote in message ... For jeffies who thinks rounding Cape Hatteras but staying to the west of the Gulf Stream is a piece of cake, here is an aerial photo of the Cape. Notice that while there are no white caps on the water (meaning winds less than 12 knots), there are distincly showing breaking waves (many) off the tip of Cape Hatteras shown in the lower right hand corner http://www.ces.clemson.edu/semaps/jp...ank/9a6ful.jpg This is the only aerial I found of CH. If someone knows of others, do share the source with us. |
